Standard - Capping/Soil/Sod

Two cap units are available—A caps and B caps.

Alternate A and B caps on straight walls. Use A caps for outside curves. Use B caps for inside curves.

When the desired wall height is achieved, arrange the caps on the top of the wall in the order in which they will be installed.Caps may be placed set back, flush, or slightly hung over the wall face. Overhanging caps about 3/4 inch creates a nice eyebrow effect and helps hide minor imperfections in the wall's alignment.

Finish the wall by securing cap units along the top with 2 beads of VERSA-LOK Concrete Adhesive. The units must be dry for the adhesive to stick. Also, make sure adhesive tubes are kept in a warm place just prior to use.

With caps secured, backfill behind the caps with topsoil (impervious soil). It's strongly recommended to immediately finish the top of your wall. This lets you grade the top of your wall to prevent water buildup and move water away from the wall face.

Cap units put the finishing touch on your VERSA-LOK retaining wall. They're available in two styles—A and B—and are 3-5/8" tall by 14" wide (at the face). Caps can be used with all types of designs. For straight walls, use both caps alternately. Outside curves require A caps only while inside curves use B caps.
